Catgut Tape

Catgut Tape is an absorbable, surgical suture with biological characteristics. It is made of collagen obtained from highly purified connective tissue from a bovine source. It is also treated with chromium salts to prolong the absorption time and provide longer support for wound healing. The suture is preserved in isopropyl alcohol solution, polyethylene glycol and water to keep the strand smooth and flexible.

Catgut Tape suture is indicated for use in liver tissue approximation. Designed for parenchymal use. The tape width avoids cuts.

Warnings
  • For single use only. DO NOT RESTERILIZE.
  • Discard remaining strands.
  • Do not rub the strand with a surgical glove or with gauze.
  • Users should be familiar with surgical procedures and techniques involving the use of absorbable surgical sutures.
  • Do not use the suture if the package is opened or damaged! Discard open, unused sutures.
  • Users should exercise caution when handling surgical needles to avoid inadvertent needle sticks. Discard used needles in suitable sharps container.
